Converting LinkedIn Followers to Leads/Sales

19 September 2022

If you’re in the process of growing your LinkedIn followers, it would be useful to start thinking of the ways that you can convert your followers into potential customers or leads! Gaining a good amount of followers is an essential place to start as your followers will help you to grow your account and reach new people. Of course, it is still important to create quality content that encourages engagement, but we also should start looking at the ways we can get the follower to invest more time into the brand by taking one step further and interacting with your product or service! In this article, we’ll talk you through some of the steps to help you get started…

Build trust amongst your followers – It is vital that you show your company to be authentic, reliable, and trustworthy. You can do this easily by sharing content like customer/client testimonials, and case studies from previous new projects and also sharing updates about new projects that you have acquired! For this, you can create a snippet of information that you can post on LinkedIn and then include a link where the viewer can read the full story. For example, you could post a breakdown of information about a new project you are working on and then include a link to the full story on the website. That way you can redirect them to your site and potentially get them to either find out more about the company/product and generate a new sale/lead. Content like this basically acts as proof that your company delivers great results!

Make key members of your team accessible – If there is a member of your team who is responsible for ensuring handling sales and potential clients be sure to push their presence so that people are aware of who to contact in case they have any inquiries. For this, you could do a short introduction video where the contact details of the person are featured somewhere on the post. Be sure to tag their personal LinkedIn account if they have one!

Add a CTA on your page – A call to action is a great way to encourage people to perform a certain action after seeing your content! Great options to use are Contact Us, Register, or Sign Up prompts, which are designed to drive higher-intent action. Adding to this on Linkedin you are also able to add tags or ‘specialties’ that are used to help your page become more visible to individuals who are searching for a specific thing – so be sure to utilise that feature!

Directly message your followers – Depending on your type of business, it may be worth reaching out to potential clients and seeing if you can chase any leads. This method won’t be for every business so be sure to only do this if you think it will be helpful for you! For this, avoid pitching to the individual and trying to drive a sale that way and instead focus on what drew them to follow you. Maybe have a look at this person’s profile and identify their work or skills that may be good to discuss in the beginning stages.

Show that you’re active in your industry – By sharing your insights on industry news and updates, it will show that your business is well connected and knowledgeable. This has a positive effect on making your page look trustworthy and will be a reason why potential clients may trust you over their competitors. It’s all about being active and ensuring that you are taking part in the conversation. If it’s relevant, be sure to leave comments on other posts too! One of the greatest things about LinkedIn is that you can network so be sure you’re getting the business out there!

We hope that this article has helped you to get started with converting your followers into potential leads and sales!
